How Mariáš is played here

The rules this table deals by. Everybody at the table sees the same lines before the first hand.

  • Only the aces and the tens count, ten each, plus ten for the last trick — ninety in a hand. A marriage is 20, or 40 in trumps, so one marriage in trumps is worth every ace in the pack put together.
  • The declarer is dealt twelve where the others get ten, chooses the trump out of them, and puts two back. The two go under, and their points still count for the declarer.
  • A good game takes more than the defence. A seven also undertakes the last trick with the seven of trumps. A hundred undertakes a hundred points counting the marriages. Betl takes no trick at all, durch takes every one — and neither has a trump.
  • Settled in coins from a tariff, and the defenders may double before the play — each of them once, and each doubling multiplies the whole hand.

How it works

  1. Open a table. It gets a short code of its own.
  2. Read the code out, or send the link. Anyone you send it to sits down as a guest, without an account.
  3. Deal once everyone is seated — or give each empty chair a bot and start now.

Questions about playing Mariáš online

How many can play Mariáš online here?
3 at one table. A bot can take any seat nobody fills, so a game never has to wait for somebody to turn up.
Can I play Mariáš against the computer?
Yes. Give any empty seat a bot and it plays like anyone else at the table, seeing only its own cards.
Does it cost anything?
No. Every table here is free, there are no ads, and nothing about you is sold or handed on.
Do I need an account?
Only to open a table. Joining one never needs an account — anyone you send the code to sits down as a guest.
Does Mariáš work on a phone?
Yes. It runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and there is nothing to install.
