How Belote is played here
The rules this table deals by. Everybody at the table sees the same lines before the first hand.
- Thirty-two cards, eight each. In trumps the order is jack, nine, ace, ten, king, queen — the jack is worth 20 and the nine 14. In every other suit it is ace, ten, king, queen, jack, and a jack there is worth only 2.
- Runs of three, four and five score 20, 50 and 100, and four of a kind scores 100 to 200 by rank. Only the side holding the single best declaration scores at all — and then everything that side holds counts.
- Belote et rebelote — the king and queen of trumps in one hand — is 20, and it always scores for whoever holds it whatever else is shown.
- The side that takes the trump must score more than the other. Level is a failure: they go dedans and everything on the table goes across, their own declarations with it.
How it works
- Open a table. It gets a short code of its own.
- Read the code out, or send the link. Anyone you send it to sits down as a guest, without an account.
- Deal once everyone is seated — or give each empty chair a bot and start now.
Questions about playing Belote online
- How many can play Belote online here?
- 4 at one table. A bot can take any seat nobody fills, so a game never has to wait for somebody to turn up.
- Can I play Belote against the computer?
- Yes. Give any empty seat a bot and it plays like anyone else at the table, seeing only its own cards.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Every table here is free, there are no ads, and nothing about you is sold or handed on.
- Do I need an account?
- Only to open a table. Joining one never needs an account — anyone you send the code to sits down as a guest.
- Does Belote work on a phone?
- Yes. It runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and there is nothing to install.
