How Sixty-six is played here
The rules this table deals by. Everybody at the table sees the same lines before the first hand.
- Twenty-four cards, six each. Ace 11, ten 10, king 4, queen 3, jack 2, nine nothing — and the ten beats the king, which decides tricks rather than only points.
- While the stock lasts you may play anything at all, and both draw after each trick. Once it is gone you must follow suit, must beat the card if you can, and must trump if you cannot follow.
- King and queen of a suit, declared as you lead one of them: 20, or 40 in trumps. You must be on lead and must already have taken a trick. Holding the nine of trumps you may swap it for the card turned up.
- Sixty-six wins the deal — but you have to claim it, and a claim that is short hands the deal to the other player. Closing the stock early moves straight to the strict rules: reach 66 and you are paid for it, fail and your opponent is.
