What Scopone is
Scopa for four in partnerships, with the whole deck dealt out at the start. Nothing is drawn, nothing is hidden after the first few tricks, and a good player can calculate the entire hand. Ten cards each and nothing to draw: you capture exactly as in scopa, by matching a table card or the sum of several, and clearing the table scores a scopa. Partners sit opposite each other, and points go to the most cards, the most coins, the seven of coins and the primiera, with the game to 11, 16 or 21.
