How Napoleon is played here
The rules this table deals by. Everybody at the table sees the same lines before the first hand.
- Five cards each from a 52-card deck, aces high. The rest of the pack is set aside unused.
- One round of bidding: pass, or say a bid that beats the last. Misère is a bid to take no tricks at all and ranks between three and four. Wellington may only be said over a nap, and blücher over a wellington.
- The declarer leads the first card and its suit is trump. That is the whole of the mechanism — and a misère is played with no trump at all.
- A made bid of two, three or four pays that many counters from each opponent, and failing pays the same to each. Nap pays 10 made against 5 lost; wellington and blücher double and triple it.
How it works
- Open a table. It gets a short code of its own.
- Read the code out, or send the link. Anyone you send it to sits down as a guest, without an account.
- Deal once everyone is seated — or give each empty chair a bot and start now.
Questions about playing Napoleon online
- How many can play Napoleon online here?
- 3 to 6 at one table. A bot can take any seat nobody fills, so a game never has to wait for somebody to turn up.
- Can I play Napoleon against the computer?
- Yes. Give any empty seat a bot and it plays like anyone else at the table, seeing only its own cards.
- Does it cost anything?
- No. Every table here is free, there are no ads, and nothing about you is sold or handed on.
- Do I need an account?
- Only to open a table. Joining one never needs an account — anyone you send the code to sits down as a guest.
- Does Napoleon work on a phone?
- Yes. It runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer, and there is nothing to install.
