What Koi-koi is
Played with hanafuda — Japanese flower cards — rather than a 52-card deck. Two players match cards by month and then decide whether to stop or press on.

Concentration
The whole deck face down. Turn two, remember everything.
Old maid
Pair everything off and make sure the odd queen ends up elsewhere.
Spoons
Pass cards until someone has four alike, then grab before the spoons run out.
Speed
No turns at all. Both players empty their hands at once.
Spit
Two solitaire layouts racing onto the same two piles.
Garbage
Fill ten numbered slots in order before your opponent does.
