How Dou dizhu is played here

The rules this table deals by. Everybody at the table sees the same lines before the first hand.

  • Fifty-four cards, seventeen each and three face up in the middle. Red joker highest, then black joker, then two, ace, king, down to three — and suits do not matter at all.
  • Bid one, two or three points for the landlord's seat. The winner takes the three cards everybody has seen and plays alone against the other two.
  • Singles, pairs and triples with a card or a pair attached; chains of five or more; chains of pairs; aeroplanes of consecutive triples; four with two. Beat what is down with the same shape and size, higher — or pass.
  • Four of a kind is a bomb and beats anything that is not one; the two jokers together are the rocket and beat everything. Each one doubles the stake. The landlord wins or loses twice what a peasant does.
