How Caribbean stud is played here

The rules this table deals by. Everybody at the table sees the same lines before the first hand.

  • Ante, and everybody is dealt five cards face down. The dealer takes five with one turned face up.
  • One decision and no drawing: fold and lose the ante, or raise exactly twice it to see the dealer's hand.
  • The dealer needs ace-king or better. If they do not qualify the ante is paid even money and the raise is returned — so a strong hand can win far less than it deserves.
  • When the dealer does qualify and loses, the raise is paid on a ladder: even money for a pair, five to one for a flush, twenty for four of a kind and a hundred for a royal. There is no progressive here — a jackpot is a pool fed by many tables, and this is one.
